    Description

POSTCARD MONEY JEWISH COMMUNITY 1 KARBOVANES 1919 SHEPETIVKA UKRAINE RARE
Shepetivka. Jewish Community 1 karb. 1919
    Podollia
Today we will tell you about one most glorious part of the history of  Ukraine. This is local issue of monetary signs, which were in circulation at Podillia, the terretory of present Khmelnytskyi Region, in 1918 - 1920.
When the Russian Empire was being destroyed and Ukraine searched for the ways to independence, monetary " hunger" was present : it caused panic among the population and long lines in banks for obtainment deposits. The so called local money began  to appear different parts of the country in order to settle that problem. The Podillia also had such money. In this collection you can see banknotes, which were used by our ancestors in such towns as: Dunaievtsi, Gorodok, Letychev, Kamianets - Podilskyi, Medzhybozh, Nova Ushytsia, Piliava, Proskuriv, Shepetivka and Trebukhovtsi. The money of Jewish communities is the rarest in the history of money. Postcards are made with original signs from the collection.
