    Description

Selling my wonderful set of Atlas Coeli 1950.0 Star Atlas and Atlas Coeli II Katalog of stars. Both are in wonderful condition. Atlas Coeli was one of the best star atlases to come out. Some amateurs still use it today.
ANTONIN BECVAR was a Czech astronomer who was active in Slovakia and is particularly important
    for his star charts
. He led the compilation of the Atlas Coeli Skalnate Pleso (1951), published by Sky Publishing Corporation as the Skalnate Pleso Atlas of the Heavens. Both an asteroid and a crater on the Moon were named in his honor. The atlas shows stars down to 7.75 magnitude, and thousands of deep sky objects. Thew Milky Way is shown in color.
This book is in very good condition with some edge wear and wear to the back cover due to storage. All pages and illustrations are very nice and all pages are attached to the spine. Please see pictures.
    Measures 23 1/2" X 16 3/4" X 1/4" thick. Weight 3 pounds. The atlas dates from 1962.
Featuring a copyright date of 1959, this is "Atlas Coeli-II Katalog 1950.0" From a New Hampshire estate and marked with the name of the previous owner as shown, this catalog is the second part of the Star Atlas. It contains exact and thorough information on stars along with other celestial objects drawn in Atlas Coeli. The single text as shown, it is likely that this has never been used. 368 pages in length and measuring approximately 8.25 by 11.75 inches, this hardcover book with the expected storage wear is certain to complement any existing collection.
These will make a wonderful addition to your astronomy library or to use while observing with telescope. They are NOT water resistant, so use them under cover if using them out at the telescope!!!
