    Description

1995-12 December STAR BIRTH IN ORION NEBULA National Geographic Map Heavens
The Orion Nebula (M 42) is one of the best studied objects in the sky because it is one of the most active “star-birth” regions known. Made from 15 Hubble Space Telescope images, this mosaic shows possible planet formation from inside giant illuminated molecular clouds which possess banner-like tails, blowing some of their material into space. The mosaic-side of this map shows the Orion Nebula in great detail. The reverse-side titled “The Heavens”, provides a view of the brightest stars in both the northern and southern hemispheres at various times of the year.
    Map is approximately 20" x 27".
The National Geographic is known for it's fine maps & detailed information.
Supplement to the National Geographic Magazine; magazine is not included.
