Description
1981 vintage Arctic Cat, 'Elite' jacket for the gals, size Medium. Made in the USA by Arctic Enterprises Inc., of Thief River Falls, Minnesota. The Elite jackets for guys and gals were teamed up with the ArcticWear vest top or bib top snow pants. The Elite jackets had the same tough 400 Denier coated nylon shell as the top of the line snowmobile suits. Also, the same Dacron® 808 Hollofil® polyester insulation behind a diamond quilted nylon liner. Wind cutter cuffs with recessed knit inner cuffs. Soft Orlon collar lining. Nice two tone blue accents on front and back, bordered by blue piping. A very stylish jacket in its day for fun on the trails or a night out on the town. It has been given a gentle cold water wash to freshen it up and is ready to wear out of the box.1981 Vintage Arctic Cat ARCTICWEAR - Gal's Medium 'Elite' Snowmobiling Jacket

This Elite jacket is structurally in good condition. It is worn, but not worn out. Due to a manufacturing flaw, the material at the sides of the zippers at the collar were not caught under the stitching and had to be tacked down. The spacing was off also. Take care when zipping from the neck up, so the material doesn't get caught in the zipper. There may be a few small snags, faint scratches and some shine, and also superficial soiling that didn't come out in the gentle cold water wash. I did simply rub one larger spot away with a damp cloth with plain water. There are no rips, holes, tears or open seams. The Orlon collar lining and the knit cuffs have been cleaned up and have little or no pilling and look good. It has been given a gentle cold water wash to freshen it up and is ready to wear out of the box.
The size tag indicates this jacket is a size M. It appears to be more like a Small to me. It could possibly be a Misses size although there were no such options in the ArcticWear catalog, and children's sizing was by number. Pay close attention to the measurements farther below.
