Classic Car Addict is excited to present this 1931 Ford Model A rumble seat coupe with 654 miles for sale in our Mesa, AZ showroom. The Ford Model A (1927–1931) was the second huge success for the Ford Motor Company, after its predecessor, the Model T. First produced on October 20, 1927, but not sold until December 2, it replaced the venerable Model T, which had been produced for 18 years. This new Model A (a previous model had used the Model A name back in 1903–1904) was designated as a 1927 model and was available in four standard colors, but not black. The Model A was produced through 1931. We love these Model A’s for the amount of style they bring to the road. After all, this one not only has maroon and black two-tone paint, but also a full set of bold red wire wheels (including the full size-spare on the rear.) The entire vehicle has been completely restored, because after all, this coupe is celebrating 90 years; that means it's correct to age but shows like new and its history. The detail on this one from the rear step plate to get into the rumble seat to the body panels straight lines of Henry Ford metal has been treated with respect. The interior provides the right vintage atmosphere with the long shifter, big/grippy four-spoke steering wheel, and gauge package in the center of the dash with all your classic readouts working. There have been some updates along the way with reupholstered seats. But nothing gets in the way of the vintage atmosphere. The windshield still folds out and the side windows glide smoothly to give you good venting the old-fashioned way. The iconic rumble seat is finished in a beautiful vinyl. The full presentation back there is quite clean and complete, so you'll proudly have it on display. Under the butterfly hood is the robust Ford's 201 cubic-inch motor. Because this one was built to be a driver, you can see it has been kept up over the years. The motor starts up every time, runs and drives great. The clutch and three-speed manual transmission have a clean action to make driving nice. The Model A was the first Ford to use the standard set of driver controls with conventional clutch and brake pedals, throttle, and gearshift. Previous Fords used controls that had become uncommon to drivers of other makes. The Model A's fuel tank was situated in the cowl, between the engine compartment's fire wall and the dash panel. It had a visual fuel gauge, and the fuel flowed to the carburetor by gravity. A rear-view mirror was optional and is included with this one. The Model A was the first car to have safety glass in the windshield. This '31 Ford was made for better driving no matter if you want to enjoy the weekend byways or hit the parade route, this rumble seat coupe is a charming way to have a great time. This will be sold on a clean Kansas title with spare paint and a few extras. Call Classic Car Addict today at 480-256-1459!
