    Description
    1928 Ford Model A
The Ford Motor Company, with its F-series, has long held the distinction of building the best-selling trucks in America. That distinction dates back many decades, as Ford's commercial Model A and AA variants were also the most popular in their day. The best-selling Ford truck of 1928 was the Model A Pick-up, which brought passenger-car style by using the Roadster style chassis and bolting on a rear bed.
For consignment, a customized, hot rodded 1928 Ford pickup. This "contraption "utilizes the 1928 tub for the passengers, has its top cut off, and all sitting on a longer Zed frame. This frame also accommodates a longer bed, has a bronze painted open air 350ci V8 with a mild cam and a TH350 automatic transmission. This pickup also illustrates the essence of the stripped of many features of a hot rod, as the less weight one has, the faster you can go!
    Exterior
The original car has been chopped, channeled, and sectioned. We are going bare bones here as we have forgotten the cowled hood, roof, and all fenders and running boards. Upfront artillery style steel wheels are wrapped in wide white wall tires. These flank a shiny chromed and canted back radiator and trimming surround. At the bottom just next to the wheels, is a single headlight on either side. The engine, coming soon to a description near you, is open air for all to enjoy and the firewall cowl abuts the passenger tub which has a chopped windshield and some square steel doors. On the back is a long bed lined with rough sawn wood for the bed which is not all that deep. Also genderless on back more artillery style wheels and wide white walls here too. Note the gate has some blue pinstriped flourishes painted in the corners, and the remainder of the truck is bathed in satin black.
    Interior
A swing of the no paneled doors leads us across a wide threshold and eventually the inner tub which has worn off paint on the purely metal. A gray vinyl bench stretches from naked door to naked door. Upfront the dash which is bare metal has a gauge cluster with vintage looking gauges with a large speedo, and a series of 4 gauges in the cluster. The dash top is black and also satin in its finish. In the center all open for the transmission showing in bronze. Due to there being no covering, the shifter comes directly out of the housing and has a wood sculpted handle. A rally steering wheel is fronting this custom dash. In front of the passenger is an olive drab canvas MRE bag for some little extras that may need storage.
    Drivetrain
An open air bronze painted block intake and valve covering 350ci V8 sits behind the radiator. This engine is equipped with a mild cam. On top is a 4-barrel carburetor with a dual cascading round chrome air cleaner. Headers snarl as they exit the engine bay and make their way to either side where they come to an abrupt end just before the passenger tub. On back, is a TH350 3-speed automatic which pushes power back to a 3.73 rear axle courtesy a 1956 Chevy.
    Undercarriage
All nicely presenting straight steel with no rust noted. Consigner states that 1940 juice brakes are now on with a dual action master cylinder and adjustable portioning valve. The front suspension is knee action and the rear is coil overs. Drum brakes are on all 4 corners.
    Drive-Ability
Slipping inside I'm nearly in another world that of competition born out of the California desert, and the goal to be the fastest. This car fires right up and runs like a Deere. Easy shifting and some loud noise from those open header pipes, a blast to drive!
Plenty of wow factor thrown on top of some pile "rat ride" if you will it has the "look". No fenders and open air engine, along with open tub seating and tell the PYT with the hanky to drop it and watch the tires smoke.
